Amelia blinked, then remembered that she resembled an animal on this planet referred to as a ‘cat’. “Ah, the females in my species exhibit feline characteristics, and the males exhibit that of canines. As you can see, we are much more … intelligent than the cats you are familiar with. So, what brings you to Disney World?”

“Oh, um…” Rapunzel stood there for a moment, panicking internally. How could she trust this… whatever she was, who may or may not have been implying that she was from another planet? Hadn’t Mother warned her about the people outside?
No, she didn’t want to think about Mother, not now that she’d finally left the tower. But she didn’t especially want to talk about it either. Unsure how to continue, she said, rather lamely, “I just… needed a vacation. What about you? What brings you, ah, here?”
((OOC: I was wondering when we’d figure this out. :P By the way, if you don’t have the Missing E plugin installed already, I recommend you do so. It allows for much easier interaction with tumblr, including replying to ask posts.))
[[Thanks for the tip: it’s really great!]]
Captain Amelia smiled. She knew a lie when she heard one. Of course, she was about to give one herself, as there was no way she could tell this girl that she was looking for a fugitive. “I stop by from time to time to chat with a few old friends. Unfortunately, it seems that this time isn’t going as … favorably.” She paused. “Are you familiar with Lady Kluck? She can be loquacious to a fault, but she makes excellent company.”

Taking Ms. Hatchaway’s hand and shaking it firmly, she said, “The RLS Legacy is a solar galleon, and one of the finest ships in the galaxy. She sports six hydrogen thrusters, fifteen solar sails, and a state of the art navigation system. She and I belong to the Navy.” She could boast about her ship for hours, but this was not the time. Perhaps if Ms. Hatchaway showed interest again later, Amelia might show her the ship itself.
“What a lovely … axe you have there. You seem quite confident with it.”
“A solar..?” Her eyes gleamed with curiosity, and she tossed her hair. She chuckled, shaking her head,
“Goodness- Sounds far more reputable than the buckets my husbands have sailed. Perhaps sturdier, too.” She pursed her lips, then paused, beaming at the mention of her hatchet. She corrected, on automatic,
“Hatchet, honestly, and I thank you! I’ve been told I’ve quite the swing.” She examined it with a morbid pride, and smiled. “A handy little tool.”
Amelia smirked at the mention of the ‘buckets.’ “You’re handling of that hatchet suggests admirable expertise.” The announcement about the barriers around the park came over the intercom. The feline grimaced. “It appears we will be stuck here for some time. You mentioned your … husbands. Are you married?”
I’m sorry, but we’re not really sure what’s going on. There seems to be a barrier surrounding the entire Walt Disney World resort. Nobody’s coming in, and nobody’s getting out. We assure you that we’re not the cause of it. We’re not that desperate to keep our guests on property! We’re working with our local wizards to try and rectify this problem, so just be patient.
As long as it is being seen to.
Amelia grimaced. “Of course there are problems. Putting such a large number of unstable characters tottering on the edge of insanity suggests an ineptitude that borders on the imbecilic.” She rolls her eyes, elegantly collapses in a chair outside a bistro, and waits with her legs crossed.
Except for the reptile with the apparent death wish, this party is rather a lot of fun. She thought to herself as she looked around. I just hope the people in charge of this event can settle the disturbance quickly so that we can all relax. I don’t deal well with …. unexpected incidents.
“Would you rather an unsettling supernatural disturbance, instead?”
She cackled, and spoke the words with great volume.
She flashed a grin, and her hatchet merrily, leering inward. The first soul to encounter outside, and of all things, the woman was a cat! She looked quite striking- Possibly a relative of the young woman in the portrait hall? She took the thought away, and relished in the sudden appearance, casually crying out,
“Hello! Oh, and BOO!”
Yes. This is proper ghosting!
Amelia raised her eyebrow, but smiled slightly, as she turned to face the woman. “I am somewhat used to unsettlingly supernatural, in my line of work.” She appraised the woman, who appeared to … was she glowing blue?. Amelia blinked a few times and her smile disappeared. After a beat, she took a deep breath and resumed her normal air of amused indifference. She stuck out her hand. “Hello. I’m Captain Amelia, commander of the RLS Legacy. Who do I have the pleasure of greeting?”
Deflated vaguely by her inability to startle the Captain, she straightened slightly and stiffened, determined not to show it. She held out a hand stiffly, and smiled coldly,
“Constance Hatchaway. A pleasure to meet you, Captain!” She nodded stiffly,
“What, may I ask, is the RLS Legacy? Forgive me- I’ve only seen some colonial ships, the occasional pirate ship, and the Mark Twain from my vantage point.”
Ah, a question about my ship!

“Mr. Crocodile, I will give you one minute before I shoot. Am I making myself clear?” To herself, “I did not come all this way to a party to get eaten by a reptile.”
